What the hell is the deal with SE developers and attempting to destroy every edge the players possibly have in any conceivable situation in this game? I'm so tired of them trying to balance shit that doesn't need to be balanced.
So you nerf my god damn ranged accuracy. Now I'm no ranger but I play enough COR to know that ranged accuracy blows anymore even when you're loaded up to the gils with equipment. 272 skill capped merits faith torque/PCC and R.acc in nearly EVERY slot should amount to COR/RNG hitting every god damn hit I pump out of that gun. Ranger should have even less issues. We pay enough money out of the nose for arrows and bullets to be allowed to not miss 15-20% of them.
And what the hell is up with HP in this game? You know they could make this game x10 more enjoyable if they just doubled everyone's HP so we'd have to worry less about x mob wiping everyone with 1 move. Give the white mages a break. White Mage was never supposed to be about spamming cures every 5 seconds, yet in most of the larger fights that's all they do. Giving them twice the HP to work with would give them some breathing room and allow them to cast other spells. Not to mention it would allow the players to relax a little while pulling hate, since DD's are almost always forced to sub /nin because we're so paper god damn thin vs anything over EM at 75.
Yeah that mob checks as tough. So what? I leveled 75 levels on this job and sunk endless hours. I should be able to kick its ass all over the god damn map.
Equipment stats is stagnant after level 60 or so. Hauberk offers no stat increases over Haubergeon, and the major increase after that is adaman hauberk, which is difficult if not unattainable for the vast majority of players. Stats for non-body melee equipment still hover around +5-7 at the most even at 75. If the equipment would evolve at the same rate as it does from 1-60 there would be little issues with accuracy in this game.
Somehow they got it right on ranged accuracy rings and nothing else. +12 at ~70 is win. Behe Rings +1 are the highest R.acc you can get, and all the R.acc rings evolve nicely through all the levels.
So do it with the rest of the god damn gear ffs.
Hauberk should be NQ Att/Acc+11 HQ +13, STR/DEX+6 NQ +8 HQ or something along those lines. Stop shafting players on stats. Mages get more stat increases as they get higher typically, at least on some pieces like Mahatma or whatever the hell its called.
The bottom line is we struggle to level up a job to 75 in order to become more powerful on that job, and most of the time we stay just as squishy save for some job combinations.
Relic Weapons...
For the amount of time and effort, money and frustration that comes with upgrading one of these weapons, they should be leaps and bounds above every other weapon in the game.
The sad truth is that the vast majority of Relics (And Mythics) are not. Some of them are easily trumped by an AH weapon, or something from an easily downable Notorious Monster. Some of them are only a hair or two above the next best AH/NM weapon.
You know what, for all the time and gil and IRL dedication relic holders put into this game, they should become gods among insects. No weapon with any amount of damage is REALLY going to make any major HNM soloable. DMG ratings are, in most cases, 3-5 at the most above the next highest. Shoot them up to 10-15 above, what's it going to do, break the game? 98 dmg amano going to solo fafnir? No. The shield and the horn are probably the only two properly done. Hell, horn could be +1 over what it has and still not destroy the game.
Mythics are barely worth their title. SE puts Physical damage taken -% on yet another high level PLD sword during a time when /nin tanking is used everywhere but, uh, dynamis.
And /nin.
God, what the hell? SE wants to get people to get off subbing /nin. You know why most melee and tanks sub NIN? Third paragraph. Go reread. I'll wait.
I have so little HP on SAM and I get hit for 230 a pop vs Birds that I get bitched at by healers while meriting for using an unreliable seigan to keep from dying if I /war. So I'm forced to /nin because two hits puts me in orange HP. (I actually just up and stopped doing it, so deal with /war).
Not only did they screw up sub jobs for almost every DD job in the game with their lack of simple HP, but they made NIN as a main job virtually useless aside from tanking charybdis, and a PLD/NIN tanked the one I got a joy off of two years ago anyway, so what the hell is the point now? Jin rarely breaks 500-700, its never going to be an asuran fists, and then they give NIN a WS that lowers target accuracy and still hits for, oh, 300. Would have been infinitely useful if the damage didn't suck.
Which brings me to another question. Why the hell aren't relic weaponskills the absolute top notch in the game? Half the time, you get a relic weapon to use one of your other WS's with it. As if the quested WS's not being as good as most of the 175 / 200 / 225 skills, they add relic weaponskills that STILL aren't the best in the game. Every one of those WS's should have a minimum damage cap of 1500 and max of 3k or something obnoxious. I paid 160m, gimme my god damn double light SAM 2hr for 8k damage. Every time.
No, instead lets make it so a Kclub DRK is more useful than most relic weapons in any zerk situation.
Nice job.

Low Mannin'
Well, as the name suggests, the Dynamis shell lately has been pretty... well yeah. I think the past 3 weeks or so have averaged us 1 DD party, with 4-5 Black Mages total. Luckily we've been alright low manning typical zones, we've done well with Xarcabard, too. That's not what bothers me about it.
Since we redid our dynamis linkshell, we've never quite had the numbers for DL. I know that disappoints a few PLDs, and I hate not being able to offer them Shadow equip. This is also throwing a wrench into our relic completion as well. I'm not sure we could dish enough damage / have enough 2hr's to keep the animated weapons busy for long enough. Not to mention that one pull up the hill towards the Animated Tachi, that's really a pain. We're going to have to sack it several times, as we found out last run.
What's more, this is our first relic with this new shell under the system of using the main shell's bank to aid. (Well, technically not. We completed our 2nd relic when the ex-Leader of the main shell gave us his extra currency, and we used it to finish another member's Aegis.)
So suppose the shell runs out of steam and we can't recruit enough to keep numbers doable. (On Unicorn its terrible the number of Dynamis shells. Monday and Thursday are booked solid and one group is almost always blocked by a random shell.) I don't like the idea of completing only ONE relic with this shell, and I dislike it more because its, you know, mine. Means if the linkshell goes down, oh man, Kaddy is never going to hear the end of it.
So now I'm looking for strategies on low manning, because I really don't want to have to go out-of-house to have another shell merc it, and pay upwards of 2-5m (Whatever is apparently 'worth' it these days). I guess I could always save up money to have some mercs done, for mine and for relics afterward. Seems like such a waste. I may ask one of the other shells for a team up run perhaps, set up the relic splits, let them keep coins in exchange for coming or something. Sigh. More to come later this week. Probably gunna try to post more often, and shorter posts.

Of Eggs and Relics
So I figured I should probably post something about, you know, FFXI once in a while, since that was the original idea behind this little project. I've forgotten that I haven't bothered to even post anything about my character, etc.
My in-game name is, obviously, Kadaj. Reference to FFVII:AC? Yes, even though 6 I still consider my absolute favorite of all the games.
5 75 jobs in FFXI: SAM COR WAR NIN PLD, leveled in that order. Samurai and Corsair are my favorite two jobs to play, and are also the most heavily merited and best equipped, though WAR looks pretty good in adaberk.
Like I said, you know, last year, I've taken over an HNM shell on Unicorn server that I've been a part of for years. Recently our concentration has been towards WotG HNM like Dark Ixion and Sandworm, though we continue to camp kings from time to time. Events like sky, sea, znm and often KS99, Bahamut etc come around in rotations.
I've also started up a Dynamis shell that our HNM shell basically hosts to help pay for relic weapons. I've started work myself on an Amanomurakumo (Currently stage 4, Totsukanotsurugi), and we're hoping to work on another shield soon (The first one went to Maestro, mostly funded from our old dynamis shell). I'm still in the very early stages of saving silver pieces, 70 of them is going to take quite a while.
Other than that, lets get some bitching in, I'm going through withdrawal.
Recently, the new mini expansion 'A Crystalline Prophecy' was released with this past version update. For those of you that have been working on the missions over the past week, you must know exactly why this is #1 in my oncoming bitch fest.
So, patch day. Update comes out. We dispatch ourselves a post maintenance Fafnir and procure an N.head. Pretty good right? Now to missions. Into Lower Jeuno for a CS, instructed to... uh, farm, apparently. The mission turns out to be a farming excursion in Jugner Forest, the Mountains, and Marshlands for 1 item from each, which drops from beastmen in those areas.
Now, I don't know what the development team thinks we like to do with our time, or if the people testing the mission realized that they wouldn't have oodles of mobs just waiting to be demolished for their items. But nevertheless, we found ourselves competing against 50 other people in each zone to claim Yagudo, Quadav and Orcs in order to get our items, with a pretty pitiful drop rate, perhaps under 20%. Well under 20% for most people, I heard.
After you turn in your three items, you say to yourself.. Thank God! No more farming! Now we can really play the missions!
Nope. Go farm goblins for a key item from the Fields, Downs and Champaigne whatever its spelled, and then pop a goblin NM with that key item for another key item at a ???
... Alright, fine. Another 3-4 hours spent trying to outclaim 50 other players to kill goblins and progress in the missions.
Oh the best part was that they busted the Qufim Island ??? spot you need to trade your items to, and check again later for a small fight. Busted it for 2 days, and nobody past that point could progress. That was rather irritating.
I dunno, guys. To me it seems like the implementation could have gone much better. Nobody wants to farm items for hours, I would have rather it be running to talk to NPCs, procuring key items and other items in that fashion. You would think that the development team would want us to enjoy the expansion, not leave a bad taste in our mouths so that after we finally farm up these items, we're so frustrated that we can't even enjoy the story.
So anyway, after that it was pretty straightforward. BC fight in Fei'Yin, that was pretty fun actually. After that, a semi-annoying facet was the climb through Delkfutt Tower, snagging key items along the way until you get to the Fulcrum, and trade all 12 for 1 key item to enter the BCNM. Wouldn't be so annoying if you weren't level capped to 30, but with sweeper players at 75 guiding it wasn't so bad.
One of the best things they did though, was allow players who weren't on the BC, or even had the expansion, to participate in the BCNM fights to help others without any prereqs. Very nice job on that.
So that has been my week, mostly. Got a Nuevo Corselet (One of three possible rewards, body pieces you pick after the final fight), and got to augment it with some stats that will favor use with my finished relic. Store TP+4 pushes me back into 6-hit range with Usukane boots, and Acc+10 since I'm Elvaan and, apparently, blind (As per a past post).
Early Easter dinner soon. Toodles.

Death by Sonic Diarreah
Sorry about the length of time between posts. Maybe we can get back into the swing of things again. Been busy with game stuff and IRL. We'll get to that though.
First off. Sonic and the Black Knight came out the other day. Those of you that know me, know I'm a pretty die-hard Sonic fan. Ever since Sega Genesis and my Sonic 2, I've been totally hooked. Then Sonic and Knuckles. God damn. That game was the shit.
Then, one of my all time Favorites. Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast. I remember I begged my mother to buy me a Dreamcast and the game, and I also recall Toys R Us having screwed up copies of Sonic Adventure where the disk wouldn't read. Drove me bananas man. Took it back and forth like 4 times until my dad and I finally got annoyed and went to Gamestop.
Toys R Us hasn't had much money from me for gaming since then.
So back on topic. Sonic and the Black Knight. Looked pretty promising, something interesting at least.
Nope.
Pretty much failed on an epic level. Controls were bleh, barely any level running, smashing enemies was... kinda dumb.
No Robots.
No Robotnik.
Why, in God's good name, does Sonic Team insist on trying to reinvent this series each time a new game comes out? Sonic Adventure (And two, you could make an argument for) was the last true, real Sonic title.
What did you do?
Well, you fought Eggman and all his nonsensical machines. You bashed in his badniks (Has Sonic Team forgotten this word?) and freed the animals inside. Then, at the end of the stage, you break open the capsule and release a bunch of little buddies. Pretty straight forward right? And that's basically been the premise since day 1. Beat the fat man, save the animals, run like hell.
That's all us fans ever wanted. No more new bad guys. (Though Chaos and Shadow did work pretty well, we'll let those slide~).
Oh, before that. Sonic Unleashed. What the hell? Okay, some of the speed levels were OKAY.
No, don't feed me this bull shit that the levels were good. They were just OKAY. Sonic doesn't need to run the speed of light in any of these games. A Sonic game's gimmick shouldn't rely just on how fast you look like you're going. The levels were always bright, with vibrant colors. Enough speed to keep you moving, not to blow by jumps you need to make and badniks you need to hit. Lets remember Sonic is a platforming game, not a damned racing sim.
Though maybe they came to the same conclusion and that's why we have that whole werehog crapola. Are you kidding me? You want to sell a Sonic game that has you bumbling around as goofy werewolf looking monstrosity, punching and swinging Stretch Arm Strong arms around? No. No no no. You're doing it wrong.
What has been the premise of every god damned Mario game since the beginning?
Beat up Bowser, save the princess.
Zelda?
Beat up Gannon, save the princess.
Sonic, up until they ruined it?
Beat up Robotnik, save the animals, and alright, the Chaos Emeralds.
Mario and Link have never had a bad adventure. Every time Nintendo releases one of these Gems, they're always incredibly fun to play.
You know what else I love about those games?
Mario and Link never have ridiculously awkward and cheesy lines. In fact, they don't even talk.
The whole style thing worked alright in Sonic Adventure, was just corny enough to be fun. Now though, good God...
So what's the deal Sonic Team? You know what I did after spending another 50 bucks on Sonic and the Black Knight?
I popped in Sonic Adventure DX for Gamecube into the Wii, and played all the great Sonic levels. Then I hooked up my DREAMCAST and popped in SA2. Those were the days, whats up with all the gimmicks? All we want is Robotnik to put that Deathegg back into the air, and for Sonic to go up there and blow it to all hell one more time.
Nope. Instead they're shoving more terrible titles down our throats, giving us all another case of Sonic Diarreah..

Merry Christmas Post
Well here we are, on the day of days. I'm posting on a brand new Dell laptop, courtesy the parents. Thank god, too. My old one from 2003 was running on 256 MB RAM. This is a nice comfortable 2 Gigs. Good god, I used to be ontop of the tech field. I didn't know RAM had gotten that high ffs. No wonder I couldn't get anything done.
Mama Kadaj also got me a Stealth Bumblebee Transformers action figure.
http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?ID=21206&BR=496
She knows me too well.
Also got some very nice Driver hats. I seem to look good in hats that no other 22 year old would wear. I think I'm actually an old, cranky man, which would explain a lot.
Case in point: At this very moment, my douche bag sister and her ass barnacle no job bum boyfriend are here, and all I want to do is tell them to get lost, because I hate 'kids' (She's 19, or else I'd throw her to the pedobears and let them teach her a lesson in respecting her elders), but she acts like a child.
Oh, in case you were wondering why, its because we caught the little bitch stealing money out of my wallet in my war room in the basement. I haven't looked at her or her boyfriend for two days, since I'm pretty sure I'm financing his cigarettes and a video game he got from her for Christmas.
Made her eat her heart out with this laptop, though.
Game wise its been pretty laid back. We're on Christmas vacation. No scheduled events for about a week or so. Gotta be careful though, last time we did this we didn't end up doing any events for about a month lol. More like a college vacation.
Apparently, one of my close friends who recently quit the game, Butcher, reads this blog (I think he's really the only one right now). So, Hi Butters, come back to the game already. Buy your character back!
Gunna go and nurse this cold I apparently have for a bit, then get ready to make the Christmas rounds to see the relatives.
Goodnight and Goodluck.

Wtf accuracy
You know what really pisses me off about this game?
With 304 skill in any given weapon, and a ridiculous amount of accuracy in equipment, you (Read: *I*) still end up missing weaponskills. Consecutively. On mobs I shouldn't be wiffing them on.
In salvage the other day, I missed 3 Tachi: Kasha's in a row. Three of them, on what, soulflayers or something stupid. Wtf? Soulflayers are Demon mobs, they should be at my damned mercy!
And don't even get me started on ranged accuracy.
(Whoops, too late)
Since I don't have Ranger leveled, and I don't feel like throwing oodles of noodles XP at Dark Ixions, I gear up COR/RNG and keep a nice comfortable distance shooting at his backside.
Yeah I know. Cor/Rng, pish posh. Yeah, most of them vs End Game are pretty lol. But, at least I'm not Cor/Nin building TP on Fafnir to Spirits Within like this one jerk off I recall in DA about a year ago.
No, seriously. Capped Marks merits + Faith Torque + ridiculous equipment for R.acc... Plus sushi Plus Hunter's Roll plus /RNG Accuracy Bonus. That's how much it takes to reliably cap the mother !@#$er with Slug Shot. And yeah, after that much R.acc, its god damned consistent at 400-600 damage.
But dear god. That's a lot.
Makes you wonder, how the hell did some of us get along without Sushi for this kind of nonsense way back when? I was what, 65 when sushi came out I think, still poppin' my rice balls on SAM full timing AF gloves because the only other option was 3 accuracy hands until... forever? But whatever, I didn't know any better smackin' away with my dual dex rings on.
Onto next topic.
Stuff that does stuff that pisses me off.
We did a Dynamis Jeuno run last night. Went alright, cleared zone, fought boss, wiped trying to pull afterwards as per usual.
Every time. Every !@#$ing time. Hits me with that blindness candle. I can be 20 distance behind it and it will turn around and throw the damn thing right into my eye if it has to (Eyepatch anyone?).
Also, apparently "Silence the Slimes" reads as "YABALABA SHYRNC ALAKABA" to all Red and Black mages in Dynamis.
Yo keep the slimes silenced and blow them up.
Kadaj's copy image effect wears off.
Kadaj receives the effect of paralyze.
Kadaj drinks bleach.
Not to mention the goblins apparently pack paralyze candles too, just in case their slimes don't piss off enough people, which they ALWAYS manage to hit me with as well.
I think its some kind of Goblin conspiracy.
And they proved it last night.
MMM came out just a few days ago. So, I set up my maze, we go in there last night.
I get mage skeletons. They all have Ice Spikes up, and they all spam that blindness AoE nonsense.
I swear to god.
Conspiracy.

Eleven Nineteen
As most of you probably know (Or don't care since you play FFXI and your days run together anyway), today is November 19th.
That's 11/19.
1119.
Well let me tell you a little bit about the number 1119.
This number has been haunting me for well over a year. It started in FFXI. Just a usual day, meriting in Caedarva Mire (Before the fancy new bird camp came out). On SAM, of course, the best DDing job in all of the game.
So I decide to dick around a little bit. Silly WS's Goten, Kagero, whatever.
Tachi: Koki, hits a Jnun for 1119. We all had a 'lol.
So some time later, I forget exactly when, we're fighting one of the several banes of my existence, Fafnir. The LS leader of our group at the time, Rustyblade, tells me to go back and SAWS him.
SAWS Fafnir.
From Behind.
Fafnir = Wyrm
SAWS Fafnir, a Wyrm, from behind.
So I'm behind Fafnir now, right? SAWS? Okay, whatever.
Kadaj readies Tachi: Kasha
Fafnir takes 1119 points of damage.
Whoah, coincidence!? Probably.
From then on its been a veritable smorgasbord of 1119's. WS's, players' HP and MP, things like that. But it doesn't stop there. No, I'd look down at the trip meter on my car. 111.9. Wonder what time it is now? 11:19.
So last year on November 19th, a few months after the first meriting incident, I decide to lolKoki another Jnun.
1186.
In fact there's Picture evidence of that one.

Another spike hit, but not the same number. If it was, I'd probably have ended up starting a number worshiping cult by now.
Its only 4:14pm, got the rest of the day to go. No idea what's going to happen.
I don't trust it, though. That damn number.
If the world ends tonight, thank you for reading.
